NEW FEATURE: Attributes tool (previously List View). This new tool has been built from the ground up to allow easier navigation of attribute information stored within Map Layers. The new tool shows a spreadsheet-style view of the information stored within objects, including any attachments that have been added. Functions include; search, export to CSV, display object attachments and navigate to object on the map. The Attributes tool will be released as a 'soft launch' initially before being made available to all accounts.

NEW FEATURE: Admin Panel Layer Metadata. For customers using the SFTP data transfer method for regularly synchronising Map Layers, a text field now displays the date the layer was last updated.

NEW FEATURE: Admin Panel Data Sync Management. There is a new tab in the Admin Panel that allows users to manually set off their Data Sync process. If there are any SHP files in the Secure FTP folder then it will ingest them and make them available in the Admin Panel. The new tool includes a log of synchronisation processes that have occured along with the number of layers that were imported.

NEW FEATURE: Admin Panel Reports. This new tab in the Admin Panel allows Administrators to extract statistics about their account over a specific time period. It can be filtered by user or Map Layer. It also includes a Shapefile export that shows where on the map users have been viewing Map Layers.

UPDATE: Login Pages. The Login pages, including the custom branded ones have been updated to increase login success. Previously cookies were used to validate a login attempt and sometimes this failed, which causes a login failure. This has now been streamlined so correct details will always log in successfully.

UPDATE: Facelift. We have fully migrated the service to our new styling design. The new User Interface is designed to be cleaner and clearer. It is the precursor to making more fundamental changes to the way the maps are delivered in an effort to make the system as lightweight and usable as possible. The new design has also been applied to the Admin Panel accounts.

UPDATE: Print Templates. The Print tool now includes a range of new Print Templates which include the inclusion of more aestetically pleasing legend information. Clicking on 'Show Legend' from within the Print Tool will pop up a box to allow the user to only display certain legend fields. This allows much clearer maps to be produced. This update is teamed with a new Legend display under the MAP tool.

FIX: Admin Panel Map Layer Ordering. Previously the Admin Panel would hang if it was commanded to update a Map Layer's column fields if there were a large number of columns present. It is now over 7x faster to save the Map Layer updates and the Admin Panel doesn't hang anymore (which is handy!).

NEW FEATURE: TravelTime. This module creates dynamic areas on the map representing how far someone can travel using different transport methods. It is configurable by the user and can display times for driving, walking, cycling, public transport and combinations of all.

NEW FEATURE: Data Sync. This allows automated ingestion of GIS files into the Online GIS using secure FTP. Compatible with SHP, including multipolygon SHP files as well as data in any worldwide EPSG.

NEW FEATURE: Our new Street Layer module is now live - view and measure street level panoramic imagery within your browser. This latest update allows you to view different epochs of imagery (i.e 2012 and 2014) side-by-side. Using the AddressBase search tool you can also find and view properties at Street Level alongside contexutal base maps and vector layers.

NEW FEATURE: INSPIRE Cloud is our Map Publishing service for Local Authorities. It allows Customer Administrators to set Map Layers as a published, password-protected WMS feed which can be shared with other Public Sector organisations. This new feature can also be applied to non-INSPIRE or commercial Map Layers. The new feature can be found in the Control Panel under the Map Layers section as a new button called 'Publisher'. This tool will not be available to all accounts by default. Contact us to find out more.

UPDATE: The Object Search tool allows users to perform a text-based search on their own Map Layers. This makes finding assets quicker and easier. Updates to this tool in this release include the addition of a CSV export directly from the tool, and a highlighter tool that displays the point or outline of an object once it has been searched for.

NEW FEATURE: Users can now share advanced URLs that control the startup location of the map and the layers that are switched on. Users can also apply filters to layers so that only the specified objects show in the map. This can be useful for sharing specific project areas or filtering the map to only show important information.

NEW FEATURE: List View. This new tool allows users to view a spread-sheet style list of information for each Map Layer. This allows easy searching, viewing and exporting of Map Layer information without having to search the map itself. This can be useful for viewing asset lists or identifying objects that are missing Attribute information. List View can be accessed from the Top Menu or by right-clicking on the layer in the Map Layers panel on the left-hand-side and selecting List View.

NEW FEATURE: Map Layers Control Panel. This is a new addition allows much greater control of a user's Map Layers. It allows users to upload new map data from Shapefiles to their account (for some accounts), create new Map Layers, edit the name and attribute information for an existing Map Layer, edit and control the styling for a Map Layer, and delete Map Layers (owned by the user) that are not needed anymore. The new features are found in a new expandable panel in the Control Panel and can be accessed from the Cog icon in the top right of your mapping account.

NEW FEATURE: Highlighting Map Objects. In the List View there is an option to go the Map Object that is selected in the list. Once clicked the map will zoom and pan to the location of that object. This makes it easier to quickly find your assets from the list. Map Objects are highlighted using a pink halo.

NEW FEATURE: Right-Click Options for the Map. This new feature allows the map to be right-clicked (or control clicked in Mac) to bring up a number of options. At present these options allow a user to find, show or hide any currently selected Map Object. More features will be added to this tool in the future.

NEW FEATURE: Right-Click Options for the Map Layers Panel. This new feature allows the Map layers panel to be right-clicked (or control clicked in Mac) to bring up a number of options. At present these options allow the users to bring up the Styling panel (if enabled), the List View (if enabled) and Show Extent which navigates the user to the location of the Map Objects in that Layer (whether the Layer is visible or not). More features will be added to this tool in the future.

NEW FEATURE: Toggle Scratchpad On/Off. It is now possible to hide the Scratchpad Layer using a new menu item under the TOOLS menu. Users can toggle the Scratchpad on and off using this new menu item. When a user goes to create or delete a Scratchpad object the Layer will automatically set itself to the ON position so all objects are visible.

NEW FEATURE: Custom Legend / Image On Map Screen. A new tool can be configured for cusotmers that can display any image on the screen. In some cases this may be a customised legend or note. The image can be made visible from the MAP menu and hidden by clicking on the image. Contact Getmapping to discuss your requirements for this tool.

NEW FEATURE: Intelliscan 3D V1. This new tool has been developed in partnership with Intelliscan. It pops up a 3D view of the area you are viewing. It uses OS OpenData terrain data and Getmapping Aerial Photography to create the view. It is accessed from the MAP menu. Users can navigate using the mouse or the W, A, S, D keys. Holding down the SHIFT button will accelerate the navigation. This is a trial feature.

UPDATE: Editor Tool. The Editor tool has been updated to include drop-down boxes when editing Map Objects that have controlled styles. Drop-down boxes appear instead of 'free' text boxes when the object's style is controlled by that information field.

UPDATE: Map Screen Size. The maximum screen size for the mapping window has been increased to account for the number of users now using larger screen resolutions. It was previously set to 1280 pixels wide but will now fill a Full HD screen.

FIX: The scratchpad tool has been updated to ensure drawn objects are more accurately placed on the map. There have been cases where drawn map objects are shifting position. This has now been fixed.

NEW FEATURE: Editor tool. The new Editor tool allows users to add, edit and delete map objects. This tool will be phased in to replace the existing Draw tools. New features to the Editor include allowing panning whilst editing, allowing the shape of lines and polygons to be changed, and allowing more map object attributes to be edited.

NEW FEATURE: Attach Documents. This new feature allows user to attach photos and documents to Map Objects. This gives users the capability of logging and recording their assets with greater detail than before. This feature will only be available for a layer if it has been activated from within the Admin Panel. It can be accessed by using the Info Click button to interrogate a Map Object and then clicking on Attach Files to upload a document.

NEW FEATURE: The Options tool has been replaced with a new Control Panel that can be opened by clicking the new 'cog' button to the left of the Logout button. This Control Panel currently holds basic user parameters such as default units and where the map opens up when you first log in. It will rapidly expand in the future with more sub-panels to control your mapping account.

NEW FEATURE: The symbol palette now allows image-based icons to be added to the map. This feature is available within the Admin Panel. Icons will be sourced from a variety of locations, including the 'Maps Icons Collection' http://mapicons.nicolasmollet.com.

NEW FEATURE: Map Layer Search is a new tool that lets users search through the list of map layers available to them. Users can search for layers, tick them to make them active and also click on the layer text to navigate straight to that layer. It can be accessed from the magnifying glass button just above the Map Layers panel on the left.

MAPPING: Base Map layers (in orange in the Map Layers Panel) have been updated to include new Ordnance Survey mapping such as VectorMap Local in both colour and greyscale, as well as improved small scale mapping and European coverage.

UPDATE: The MENU bar has been simplified and submenu items have been grouped up. This is in an effort to make things easier to find and to accommodate future modules.

FIX: There was an issue that meant the mapping would take a long time to load in Internet Explorer when more than 500 layers were available. This has now been fixed and tests show it takes under 10 seconds to load an account with over 3,000 layers.

UPDATE: The scratchpad has been updated to include the ability to draw circular polygons of a specified radius around a position or an existing point.
